Mentorship and Expertise

Would you benefit from advice from a seasoned entrepreneur with expertise in issues regarding the environment, education, health, arts, and technology? Someone to answer the tough questions and give direct advice? We connect you with mentors and coaches with decades of business experience. Our Social Entrepreneurs-in-Residence are nationally and internationally renowned experts. We also bring speakers from around the world to inspire and inform you about social innovation worldwide.

Capacity Building

Do you need help developing your brand, establishing a legal partnership, thinking through liability issues, or developing an effective marketing strategy? We offer workshops, seminars, and bootcamps led by subject-matter experts on topics that are essential to launching and scaling social enterprises, and we provide legal, financial, and communications support services from local companies or university departments.

Seed Funding

Do you need a little money to develop your social venture? We offer seed funding on a competitive basis and also connect social entrepreneurs at UNC to competitions, fellowships, and other opportunities that offer seed funding.

Are you looking for courses in social entrepreneurship? Undergraduate students can apply to the minor in Entrepreneurship, which has a social track, and both faculty and students can enroll in “Launching the Venture,” a class designed to help you move from idea to launch.
